Senior Software Services Manager ((Capital Markets)

As a(n) Senior Software Services Manager (Capital Markets) within PNC’s ACFR organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA.nn nnThe ideal candidate will have experience managing and leading a team of 10 or more developers.

In addition to project work, this would include ongoing support and enhancements of applications (custom developed and vendor) to support numerous business units within a rapidly changing business domain (Capital Markets).

While guiding and leading the development team, the candidate will need to successfully engage with other business units/organizations both internally (front office, operations, market risk, finance) and externally (customers/clients, service providers, suppliers).nn nnPrimary Managerial Skills:nn nnManages multiple development projects, development groups and/or application support functions for a major business segment.nn nnOversees the development and implementation of multiple, complex, organization-wide systems.nn nnAllocates and ensures resource arrangements during the application development life cycle.nn nnMaintains relationships with clients (internal and external) to ensure the implementation quality of application systems.nn nnProvides solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation.nn nnDesired Technology Skills:nn nnIn depth knowledge of the following software technologies in order to guide team for successful engagements.

Past Experience as a software engineer/developer is highly desirable.nn nnSoftware Engineering Development and Design
– Methodologies, Patterns, Algorithms, Object Oriented programing concepts.

Experience with Java development preferred.nn nnEnterprise Server Operating systems.

Experience developing / supporting applications on Linux preferred.nn nnDatabase technologies.

Experience developing / supporting applications with Oracle RDBMS preferred.nn nnExperience with custom development and web technologies.

Batch processing / scheduled jobs and online transaction systems.nn nnChange and release management (DevOps).

Experience with GIT, Jenkins, Gradle preferred.nn nnExperience with financial industry standards and protocols.

Specifically FPML and FIX.nn nnDesired Business Knowledge:nn nnThe ideal candidate will have experience managing technology teams in the financial services industry.

Experience in Capital markets is preferred.

Experience and/or in depth knowledge of derivative products is most desired.nn nnInvestment/Financial Services experience: Ability to understand financial calculations
– valuations and market values (NPV), Accounting/journal entries, payments/settlements, etc.nn nnCapital Markets Experience.

A candidate who possesses familiarity with derivative products is strongly desired.

Specifically the following asset classes: Interest Rate, Commodities (Energy), Foreign Exchange, and Credit.nn nnUnderstanding of Risk measures relating to financial products

Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.

Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.

Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.

At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.

Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.

In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
