nn nn The Mellon College of Science (MCS) is home to four departments and many programs and research centers that cross disciplines.

We approach scientific problems from fresh angles using innovative interdisciplinary approaches while drawing on our departmental strengths in the core sciences.

MCS faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including polymer science, cosmology, mathematical finance and neuroscience.

nn nn Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Biological Sciences is seeking a Research Associate I.

nn nn Core responsibilities will include: nn Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Laboratories Administrative duties include record keeping and strain databases Lab duties include managing all bacterial and yeast strains, maintaining and cataloging all strains in the laboratory Performing preliminary experiments and setting up experiments Maintenance of laboratory equipment nn You should demonstrate: nn Computer proficiency Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt protocols for classroom experiments and provide technical support.

Knowledge and adherence to safe laboratory practices.

nn Qualifications: nn Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry One year of experience in a research laboratory required; 2 years of experience in a research laboratory preferred nn Interested applicants; please submit a cover letter with statement of interest and CV.
