Recording Services Specialist- Pittsburgh Based

This is a Full-time position in Pittsburgh, PA posted March 29, 2021.

The Recording Specialist is responsible for all aspects of document recording process. This postion assist with the day to day Recording operations reviewing documents pre recording and submitting them either electronically or through the mail. This individual will have a working knowledge of title and closing services, and knowledge of state and county recording requirements and cost calculations. This position requires the employee to be physically present in a Radian office location. The majority of the job duties must be performed in office due to the nature of the duties and/or to meet our contractual and compliance requirements set forth by our clients, vendors and/or to meet internal governance standards. Accordingly, remote or virtual work is not an option for this role. In office duties for this position include but are not limited to : document handling and scanning, mailing of documents and packages.

What You Will Do:

  • Proof all recordable documents after closing to determine that all state and county guidelines are met and that all signatures are completed and properly notarized.
  • Submit and track all documents for recording in accordance with ALTA Best Practices completing any necessary County required forms that need to accompany the documents.
  • Communicate with clients/borrowers and management on missing documents needed for recording.
  • Verify proper recording fees have been collected and complete check request for any additional fees needed for the recording.
  • Process all Re-Records as needed and track them until resolved.
  • Address inquires from clients, sellers agents, buyers agents, internal staff and management in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Who We Are Looking For:

Knowledge:

  • College degree with industry experience is preferred.
  • Minimum requirements of a high school diploma with some experience within the real estate and/or vendor management service industry preferred.
  • ALTA best practices experience preferred.
  • Understanding of the recording process and jurisdiction specific requirements for recordation.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of client-based systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to problem solve in a growing, expanding business; Ability to multi-task in fast-pace environment.

Prior Work Experience

  • Technical: 6 months – 1 year

Education and Credentials

  • Required: HS Diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree, Concentration in Business
  • Other Certifications:: Associate’s Degree is also preferred over HS Diploma/GED
